At the 2024 Annual Town Meeting, the Conservation Commission was appropriated $75,000 through the Community Preservation Committee for the Lower Neponset River Estuary Project. The first phase of the project is to survey the area to identify and clearly delineate ownership of the land that comprises the estuary. Additional work will include concept designs to increase passive recreation in the area through walking trails and better access.
Survey Update
Beginning on December 18, 2024, staff from Zenith Land Surveyors, a full-service land surveying company, will be conducting a professional land survey of Town-owned land abutting properties off Riverside Avenue, Whitman Road, Thistle Avenue, and Courtland Circle. The survey field crew may need to cross private property or access the edge of private property to locate property bounds and collect additional GPS data. All Zenith field staff will be wearing personnel protective equipment while performing the land survey. The work is anticipated to take approximately 3 full-days, weather permitting.
