Division
Administration
The administrative division of the department is responsible for the daily management of the police force.
Animal Control
Animal Control is in charge of the rules and regulations of animals.
Communication
The communication division is a group of dispatchers and cadets responsible for answering all emergency and non-emergency calls for police service.
Detective
The detective bureau is responsible for the follow-up investigation of all major incidents responded to by the patrol force.
Records
The records department is responsible for maintaining all official police reports and documents.
Patrol
The patrol division is the most visible branch of the police department. This unit patrols all areas of the town on a 24-hour basis.
Prosecution
A unit within the department that directly assists the courts in prosecutions of all Milton criminal cases.
Specialized Units
Domestic Violence Unit
This unit assists in the response, follow-up, and investigations into domestic violence incidents.
Elder Affairs Officer
This officer assists in the needs and concerns of aging adults in the community.
K9 Unit
The department has two full-time K9 patrol units. Both canines are available for all types of tracking/searching and one is trained in explosive detection.
Motorcycle Unit
The motorcycle unit augments the patrol division and performs traffic enforcement duties as well as assists with special events.
Mountain Bike
The mountain bike unit assists the patrol division in parks and business districts in the town weather permitting.
Metro-Lec Swat
A regional tactical unit for response to critical incidents.
School Resource Officer
A dedicated officer assigned to the Milton Public Schools.
