In 2018, the Town of Milton adopted a Complete Streets policy to ensure that all projects in the Town will incorporate complete streets design principles (those that provide safe and equitable access to all travel modes) to the maximum extent possible.
Adopting a formal policy allowed the Town to participate in MassDOT's Complete Streets funding program, which enables the Town to apply for infrastructure grants up to $400,000 annually for "Complete Streets" projects. In order to apply for this funding, the Town developed a Prioritization Plan of potential projects with input from residents and various stakeholders.
In Fall of 2018, the Town of Milton was awarded $396,703 to proceed with three Complete Streets project, as described in the "Exhibit A" link below. Work for these projects will be completed by September 2019.
